Pink Friday‘s release is a month a way and fans are itching to know what she has to offer us. She’s given us mad style, steelo, and charisma over the course of the year between song features and interviews, but now it’s her time to bring out her artillery.

She’s kicking off her debut project with “Check It Out” and tapped another highly animated dude to play in her imagination: will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas. If you thought the Pre-VMA MTV performance of the song was funky [watch it here], then you ain’t seen nothing yet. Nicki and will are straight up futuristic.

“We’re doing an ode almost to Japanese anime,” Minaj told MTV News about the highly stylized animation style while on the Los Angeles set of the video. “I’m obviously a big fan, and I’ve joined forces with the only boy that I know that’s able to capture that culture.”

“You can expect to see a bunch of flyness as far as outfits,” will told MTV News of the video. “When I say flyness, I’m referring to Nicki.”
