If you aren’t aware that Jay-Z has a cool book titled Decoded set to drop, then you’ve been sitting too far under a rock! As part of promo for the highly anticipated hard cover, fans are able to “decode” Jay-Z through his lyrics by embarking on a scavenger hunt to find the book’s pages. Many of the pages have been spread all across New York City for eager fans to find and the moment the competition broke out, one fan who happens to be SoulCulture’s Creative Director Eddie “Versetti” Smith cracked the first clue and found the first two pages of the book. Well, Eddie resides in the UK, but he was in NYC on a trip; when out of the blue he received a call to fly out to Miami on a red-eye to attend the Decoded media launch party at the swanky Delano Hotel. Pretty freakin’ cool right? And of course, Eddie didn’t have to think twice about accepting the invite. To make a long story short, not only did Eddie get a chance to meet his idol Jay-Z, but he also walked away owning a precious collector’s item–the first page he “decoded” framed and signed by Jay-Z!
