Snoop Dogg Shopping Hip Hop Version of “The X Factor” To Networks

Is Snoop Dogg the Hip-Hop’s Simon Cowell? Well we might end up comparing him because he’s in the process of launching his own edgy talent show but for the hood.
The Guardian, who were among a selected group of journalists summoned to Snoop’s press conference at a strip club (more on this later) to promote his 11th solo album Doggumentary, said Snoop pointed out a vacancy for talent shows aimed for the hood and feels he has the best show idea to create a classic, entertaining television show.
“[Snoop] said that although he thought X Factor and American Idol were “great shows”, he felt there was space in the market for a televised talent contest “straight directed to the hood … at people with no money, just talent”.
He said: “I’m looking for a deal from a network to find America’s hottest hood artists.”
Asked what he thought of pop star Cheryl Cole, who has recently signed up to be a judge on the US version of the X Factor, Snoop Dogg replied: “She alright. She doing her thing. She a little bit hardcore, a bit edgy.”
The Guardian seemed more impressed by Snoop’s press conference than the actual conversation. The article describes how he kept “journalists waiting in a private gentleman’s club in central London for almost an hour, before appearing on stage amid clouds of smoke and a bevy of skimpily-clad pole dancers” while snipping liquor from a Union Jack mug. LOL.
