Whitney Houston Admitted To Out-Patient Rehab Program
Legendary singer Whitney Houston is currently undergoing an out-patient rehab treatment for her lifetime struggle with substance abuse and alcoholism. Her entry into the program 10 days ago has been deemed voluntary despite appearing at a Prince concert singing along side another legend Chaka Khan a few days ago.
TMZ reports:
A rep for Whitney Houston says the singer is receiving treatment in an out-patient rehab program for drugs and alcohol as part of a “long-standing ” recovery process.
TMZ broke the story … Houston voluntarily enrolled in the program around 10 days ago. Houston has admitted her problems with substance abuse in the past … but TMZ has learned the demons have resurfaced.
A music industry source who was with Whitney two weeks ago tells us, “She was plastered and she was a mess.”
Over the past seven days news of Houston making a comeback to the big screen has been surfacing for her classic film “Waiting to Exhale” (1995). Houston, along with Loretta Devine, Lela Rochon, and Angela Bassett, will reprise their roles in the Terry McMillian scripted film titled “Getting to Happy”. Forest Whitaker is also reprising his directorial duties on the film. Whether her rehab admittance is related to her work on the film has not been clear as of yet.
