Eminem Turns Down $6 Million Concert

Music

It must have been the hardest decision of Eminem’s career: turning down a whopping $6 million for one night’s work. But that’s exactly what the Detroit rapper did when he was invited to play a night at the Big Day Out, a famous music festival in New Zealand. Promoter Ken West was just as shocked as anyone.

“It was la la land to think he could ever do the Big Day Out, even though we offered $6 million,” Mr. West told to the New Zealand Herald.

There’s no word on why Eminem declined the offer. But he’s not alone. Artists like Prince and Blink 182 have previously turned down offers to perform at the Big Day Out. And more recently, the organization struck Odd Future from its festival roster after the group came under fire for homophobic lyrics.
