Another day, another senseless murder. Brick Squad rapper Slim Dunkin, 24, was gunned down Friday evening around 5:30 p.m. in a music studio in Atlanta. Dunkin (real name Mario Hamilton) was getting ready to record a video. According to police in Atlanta, he was shot in the chest after an argument with another man. He was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigators are still trying to identify the shooter. Authorities have been interviewing eyewitnesses, starting with those who were in the studio with Dunkin on that tragic Friday night. The Associated Press reported that there were as many as 20 people were scattered throughout the small studio at the time of the shooting.
“Right now we’re just trying to identify who may have seen what, really just trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together,” says police spokesman Maj. Keith Meadows. “It seems everybody witnessed something very different. We’re just trying to go back and make sense of everything.”
Slim Dunkin is best known as a member of the Brick Squad Monopoly alongside Waka Flocka Flame. He recently released a 20-song mixtape that featured collaborations Waka Flocka Flame, Gucci Mane, and Roscoe Dash.
