Melanie Fiona is on J.Cole’s New Album
J. Cole and Melanie Fiona had such great chemistry working on the latter’s album that they wanted to keep the magic going. Fiona tells Billboard.com’s “The Juice” that she supplied vocals to a track billed for Cole’s sophomore album.
“I did a track for him which will probably be on his new album,” MF tells Billboard. “His song [has] a real positive message,” Melanie Fiona revealed. “It’s about a competition he was having with young girls and boys about keeping your head up and staying positive. I actually haven’t heard a final version of it yet.”
The Canadian songbird felt honored that Cole would pick her for the song. “It felt good that he had reached out to me to be on a record like that, you know? I think that says a lot about how he sees me as an artist and that’s cool. That’s exactly how I want to be represented,”
The Roc Nation duo first shared airtime on Wale’s “Beautiful Bliss,” often touted as one of Cole’s greatest guest verses. They caught lightening in a bottle again on Fiona’s “This Time,” off The MF Life.
