Nicki Minaj Enlists Chris Brown and 2 Chainz for New Songs
Nicki Minaj has always boasted about her split personalities and her polarized new songs with Chris Brown and 2 Chainz prove that they must really exist.
First up is “Right by My Side” where Minaj teams with Brown. The song, which sounds strikingly similar to one of the latter’s mixtape tracks, is clearly geared toward rhythmic and urban radio. Sadly, Minaj does very little rapping on “Right by My Side” and sings through a veil of auto-tune.
The next track is “Beez in the Trap” with 2 Chainz. The beat on this record is boss but Minaj is painfully redundant and her collaborator easily steals the spotlight. She had the opportunity to do some serious bars here but sounded utterly confused.
Both “Right by My Side” and “Beez in the Trap” will appear on Minaj’s Pink Friday: Roman Reload. The album hits stores on April 3rd. Listen to the songs below:
