Selita Ebanks Debuts Swimsuit Line

Who knows swimwear like a Victoria’s Secret Angel? With her experience modeling itsy kinis for VS, Selita Ebanks is now gearing up for her own fashion line, Sass by Selita. Last night, at BET’s 8th annual Rip the Runway, Ebanks finally gave us a peek at her goods.

“SASS” stands for “Selita’s Accessories, Shoes, and Swimwear.” Ebanks says that her line is about confidence and attitude.

“I wanted something that will empower women and let them know that their sass is untouchable,” she told the New York Daily News. “It takes a certain kind of women to have sass — very confident, sexy and independent.”

Ebanks knows a thing or two about being sexy and confident. She scored her first modeling gig at 17. A scout discovered her at Six Flags, that well-known hive of fashion talent. Ebanks would go on to sport beachwear for Victoria’s Secret from 2005 to 2008. She also appeared in Sports Illustrated‘s Swimsuit issue in 2007.

At last night’s Rip the Runway, Ebanks wore two hats — as co-host and designer. This year’s show featured performances by Diggy Simmons, Wale, and more. Lil Kim closed the show in style.

Sass by Selita hits stores this fall. Many of the suits are reasonably priced (between $40 and $100) and will be available at departmental stores, while the chain pieces are going for more at high-end spots.
