I took my my six year-old son to a restaurant once. As we waited to pick up a carry-out order, he grew restless. So he decided to entertain himself by spinning in a circle. In the process, obstructed my view of the nearest television which just happened to be on ESPN’s Sports Center. Some golf highlights flashed on the screen.

I told the kidlet to move his oblong head out of the way, so I could catch some sports highlights. He stopped, spun around, glanced at the screen and retorted, “What, golf? Golf isn’t a sport, silly.” He giggled in a manner that suggested I was being facetious by referring to golf as a sport.

Little Man isn’t the only one who deems golf a snoozefest undeserving of sports classification.
