Malinda Williams Not So Enamored with ‘Think Like a Man’

What's the Word

Think Like a Man may be the most popular black movie out right now, but that doesn’t mean it’s immune from criticism.

Think Like a Man opened over the weekend to the tune of $33 million, displacing The Hunger Games as the box-office leader. And despite its overwhelming popularity in the African-American community, it’s garnered a fair share of criticism. One thespian in particular, Malinda Williams, isn’t feeling the movie or the Steve Harvey book that inspired it.

Williams shared these views on Twitter:

“God gave me the gift of being able 2think like a woman. I’m gonna hold on 2that treasure. – but I will support my fellow thesps & filmmakers.”

“If God wanted us to think like men, he would have formed us from Adam’s brain instead of his sensitive rib. – stay in your lane.”

Roc4Lifers, do you agree with Malinda Williams?

Some people think too much. I understand her thoughts but seriously . From one sister to another “girl take a chill pill”. The movie was what we needed. Laughter.
