Roc Style with Angel Laws of Concrete Loop
Welcome to another episode of Roc4Life’s Roc Style. Roc Style is a series of interviews with entertainers and trendsetters where we discuss fashion, personal brand and, of course, Rocawear’s influence on their style.
She’s the creator and editor of one of the most popular entertainment blogs around, ConcreteLoop.com. She’s also a stylish blogger with a knack for telling it like it is, and has, among other accomplishments, released a successful book titled Angel’s Laws of Blogging. That’s what Roc4Life learned about blogger Angel Laws, when she stopped by the Roc showroom to talk style and blogging.
From the kitchen of her parents’ home to the lips of celebs like Diddy and Kanye West, Angel has made Concrete Loop a household name for black entertainment news. We caught up with her to discuss personal style, inspiration and of course, what’s next, and the blogging guru delivers the goods.
Angels’s personal style in three words: “Eclectic. Creative. Real.”
On inspiration: “Traveling. And I actually look at old books now, a few collections from Africa from the 30s and 40s.”
On why she created Concrete Loop:
“It started as a hobby in my parents’ kitchen when I was 20 years-old, and out of all the popular blogs no one was talking about the black celebrities I love. So I decided to … and it went from there.”
On who she thinks are the most fashionable celebs:
“Solange and Andre 3000.”
What’s next for Angel and Concrete Loop:
“We have a new layout coming out. I’m working on another blogging book, which is more into the advertising end of the business.”
