What's the Word

Today marks the 30th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s Thriller album and it would be a crime if we didd’t celebrate this event! So, join us as we reflect on the impact of this iconic masterpiece and its enormous impact.

Issued on November 30th 1982, Thriller was the biggest-selling release of Jackson’s career. The album has been certified an astonishing 29x platinum by the RIAA, making it the most successful LP in the history of the US, held the top slot on the Billboard 200 for 37 weeks and generated 7 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.

However, what truly made the Thriller era memorable was the videos. From the Halloween-themed title track to the global #1 smash “Billie Jean”, the short films set Jackson apart from his peers as the greatest visual entertainer of our time.

Every artist, including Janet Jackson, Madonna, Beyonce, Kanye West, Chris Brown and Usher, have emulated Jackson’s style but none have ever come close to matching the King of Pop. If you don’t believe us then grab some popcorn and enjoy music in motion below:
