Beyoncé Signs $50 Million Pepsi Deal

What's the Word

It’s official. Beyoncé has signed on the dotted line.

Earlier, we told you about Beyoncé’s $50 million Pepsi deal. Now the First Lady of the Roc has made it official and the campaign is already underway (the image up top is from an October photo shoot).

“Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve,” Beyoncé told The New York Times in a statement. “As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.”

The effort is an extension of Pepsi’s “Live for Now” campaign. It will include life-size billboards, TV spots, magazine ads, radio commercials and a limited-edition run of Bey’s image on Pepsi products. She joins Michael Jackson as the only artists to be featured on a Pepsi can.

As part of the initiative, Pepsi will sponsor Beyoncé’s Super Bowl XLVII halftime show on February 3, 2013.

Congratulations are in order.
