Melanie Amaro returned to her alma mater, The X-Factor, for a special performance.

Taking the stage in a gorgeous black dress, Amaro belted out her new single, “Long Distance.” The track is available on iTunes now.

Thursday night’s performance sets off the promo buzz for her feverishly anticipated debut. Amaro has been relatively quiet since winning the 2011 edition of the talent show, but that’s about to change. Her debut LP, Truly, is penciled for early 2013.

For now, feast your eyes on this delicious rendition of “Long Distance.”
