Mariah Carey on Nicki Minaj: “I didn’t know she sang”
Mariah Carey doesn’t need a beat to fire a diss at people who get in her way. Just watch her recent Nightline video to see exactly who she dealt with Nicki Minaj.
In the song “Hell Yeah”, Minaj sniped at Carey with the line, “why these bums so mad that the queen on [American Idol]?” Of course, Nightline host Barbara Walters wanted Carey to comment on the song that she claimed Minaj “sang.”
“I didn’t know she sang,” Carey dug at Minaj, who also serves as a judge on the singing competition American Idol. “I thought she rapped or whatever.” At least we now know why Carey called Minaj inadequate during their onscreen blowout.
