OutKast Reunite on “Pink Matter”
Frank Ocean originally wanted both Andre 3000 and his OutKast comrade Big Boi on “Pink Matter.” One of them voted against the idea. Ocean may finally get some recompense.
Big Boi has revealed that he’s carving up rhymes for a revamped version of “Pink Matter,” which originally featured Ocean and 3000. He even shared images of his in-progress lyrics (so you know it’s real). His reps also confirmed the collaboration, according to Consequence of Sound.
Frank Ocean tried to recruit both Boi and Dre for the original version of “Pink Matter,” but 3 Stacks nixed the idea. “Dre didn’t want an Outkast Record Coming out on anybody else LP,” Big Boi wrote on Twitter last summer. All is well and good now.
Exciting times ahead for OutKast fans, because Big Boi is also set to join Andre 3000 on T.I.’s “Sorry.” Both tracks should tease OutKast fans further, with the prospect of a reunion now as elusive as ice on a stove.
