Angel Haze Talks ‘Dirty Gold’
Angel Haze is one of the hottest new rappers in the game. But will her album live up to expectations? We’ll know the answer to that sometime this fall when her debut, Dirty Gold, hits shelves.
“Everything has been so inspiring. It is such a chill place,” Haze tells XXL. “Everything is so far apart and no one can really get to me. I can just be alone in my own zone.”
The title is also the name of one of Haze’s favorite bands. “When I thought about it, I was like, ‘Oh! Let’s do this.’ So I texted the lead singer [of Dirty Gold], “Yeah, your name is going to be the name of my album.” He’s like, ‘So cool!’”
The album was initially scheduled for spring, but she’s had to push it back to fall. Haze says it’s about 40-50 percent complete.
