Mel Carter is back with a new music video for his song “Runaway.”

The video starts with the leading lady getting a call and jumping out of bed. As she races to her car to meet a “client,” we see our narrator Mel Carter sitting on the stoop outside her home. “Man we all know the girl who’s the baddest on her team/High off the kush, low on self esteem,” Mel raps.

He proeeds to narrate various tales of confusion and desperation. Each verse deals with a different girl and a unique set of social struggles, all set to matching visuals and plenty of eye candy. It’s a fine, honest, no-bullshit representation of a song in the video medium.

The J. Dot-produced “Runaway” appeared on Mel’s Popular Stranger mixtape.
