Grammy nominated record producer, J. Dilla was one of the entertainment industry's most recognizable names in hip hop. Having produced for artists like Janet Jackson, Q-Tip, The Roots, The Pharcyde, De La Soul and more, he had a tremendous impact on the culture and will always be remembered for his work. He was a member of the Detroit-based hip hop group, Slum Village, before becoming a solo artist.
We are celebrating his birthday, which would have been today, by paying tribute to his legacy. He will forever be missed. For those that may not be familiar, he may have produced some of your favorite songs. Check out some of his music below.
Janet Jackson - "Got Til It's Gone"
A Tribe Called Quest - "Find A Way"
The Pharcyde - "Runnin"
Those are just a few tracks but there are too many to name. Rest in Peace, J. Dilla.
I'm ashamed to say I didn't know J-Dilla, but I know his work... Dude was awesome... I'm still searching for more classic stuff by him... Any recommendations
