First Honors: Jay Z Nominated For Songwriters Hall of Fame

We all know that Jay Z is a beast with the lyrics. Aside from countless albums and accolades, he has another chance to make music history. Hov was nominated to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, after 20 years in the business. If he gets the nod, he will be the first rapper to ever be inducted.

Candidates become eligible after 20 years of writing music. This is the perfect time to celebrate his talents and a classic album that is still on heavy rotation.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame Class of 2017 list of inductees include the talents of Madonna, George Michael, Gloria Estefan, Bryan Adams, and Sly Stone to name a few. He is in good company and hopefully he’ll get enough votes to make the cut.
