It really happened. Yesterday was Election Day and many people stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to see the results. Despite the predictions and possible outcomes, Donald Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States. Yes America…We had one job.
Even though the shock is still settling in, we need to pull it together and move forward. Focus is an important part of planning. We need to figure out how to handle the course of events that may happen next. The cast of characters for the next four years is an interesting one…Names like Rudy Giuliani, Chris Christie, and Newt Gingrich are being thrown into the cabinet mix. That sounds like a horror show waiting to happen. While people are urged to stay positive, it’s hard because of the many issues that come with these guys.
This was supposed to be a celebratory moment for Hillary Clinton, her supporters, and women everywhere. She was about to change the game once she was elected and even planned her post-election party at the Javits Center, a venue with an actual glass ceiling. While most people thought that women would hold her down, they most certainly did not. According to NBC News, Donald Trump earned the female vote across the board. Women would rather vote for an alleged rapist who doesn’t think much of women than another woman they feel some kind of way about. This kind of petty should be illegal because it causes people to make rash decisions.
The blame game is strong right now. People unfriending people on social media, pointing fingers at the 3rd party voters, and even going in on the people who did not vote. At the end of the day, people weren’t trying to hear a woman President and would rather have a business man turned reality TV star as our fearless leader.
Trump’s claim to fame was his promise to Make America Great Again. His marketing and branding skills paid off because people bought into the BS. Last weekend, we set our clocks back. At this rate, we may have to set our calendars back a few years too.
