It’s official! The Lionsgate Tupac Shakur biopic, All Eyez On Me, is set to drop later this year. There have been many stories about his life and legacy featured in a variety of movies, including Straight Outta Compton. This full-length project had a lot of false starts but was finally shot in Atlanta last year. Director Benny Boom took the lead and made it happen. The script was inked by Ed Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft. The title of the movie is actually the name of Tupac’s fourth studio album that was released in 1996.
The movie boasts a variety of talent including Demetrius Shipp Jr, Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, and Cory Hardrict. The movie goes through the life and times of Tupac Shakur. It covers his film and music days, the time he spent with Death Row Records, and the time he spent being incarcerated. Tupac’s life was cut short at the age of 25 after a drive-by shooting incident in September ’96. This year, Tupac is also slated to be inducted into the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Check for the film to drop on June 16, 2017, on what would have been the famed rapper’s 46th birthday.
