When you think of Jordan Peele, you think of funny shenanigans and knee-slapping skits. He is one half of the comedic duo Key & Peele and they are always on a mission to clown. While they are focused on making people laugh, they both have dreams to pursue other projects in the entertainment industry. Peele recently took a step left and decided to work on a film. He wrote and directed “Get Out”, which is scheduled to open in theaters February 24th.
“‘Get Out’ takes on the task of exploring race in America, something that hasn’t really been done within the genre since ‘Night of the Living Dead’ 47 years ago.” – Jordan Peele
You would think that if Peele was writing a movie, it would he hellafunny. This film is the exact opposite. It is creepy, scary, and the trailer alone scared the bejeezus out of us. The film touches on a variety of socially prevalent topics including interracial dating and racism. Peele presents these issues in such a way that viewers have no choice but to either laugh at it or analyze it. Even though the movie is really a creeper there are some laughable moments when you least expect it. Press play on the trailer above and be sure to hit the theaters next weekend.
