If food is your thing then this next bit of information is for you. The foodie in all of us needs to be challenged and this just might be the place to do it. As of April 1st, Smorgasburg will be open for business and foodies from all over are expected to come through. Smorgasburg is one of the biggest food flea markets in New York City. This is the spot to be from April through November as the food is on constant flow. There are over 75 booths with food to choose from but one cool food to check for is the Rain Drop Cake. This dessert was designed by Darren Wang and he is gladly bringing it back this year with a twist.
This time around, the Rain Drop Cake will be served up in purple. The original desert was clear but Wang uses a little something different to change its appearance. He uses ube (purple yam) to give the dessert its purple color. This will surely be a hit this summer.
Smorgasburg opens are a variety of locations beginning April 1st from 11am – 6pm (rain or shine).
