The American Museum of Natural History has been home to many amazing exhibits. Last night, the spotlight was focused on an amazing exhibit that is currently available for viewing. ¡CUBA! opened at the AMNH on November 21, 2016 and will run through August 13th. Last night, the museum Spring Showcase was heavily inspired by the exhibit with Cuban food, music, and a private viewing of the exhibit.
The ¡CUBA! exhibition is a very detailed look at the island gem in the Caribbean. Despite the political trials and tribulations of the country, the people continued to live and somewhat prosper. Now that travel restrictions have been lifted, people have been making their way to see all the beauty that the island has to offer. Somewhat stuck in time, there is so much natural beauty, architecture, and culture to be seen. This exhibit brings all of that to New York City for those who haven’t gotten there to see it for themselves.
Last night, the Spring Showcase at the AMNH featured a private screening of the exhibit for guests along with Cuban cocktails, traditional food stations, and a performance by Grammy Award winning Arturo O’Farrill and The Latin Cuban Orchestra. All this was happening right under the big, blue whale in the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life.
