Dave Chappelle has been on a mission since he touched down in New York City. His Radio City Music Hall residency is on everybody’s agenda and if you haven’t seen it, you are truly missing out. Chappelle has been putting it down for the culture since Day 1 and last night he celebrated a milestone. He threw a party at Brooklyn’s House of Vans to celebrate 30 years of comedy and his NYC residency.

The party went down in true Chappelle style as he set it up like his infamous ‘Juke Joint’. DJ Trauma, DJ D-Nice, and Stretch Armstrong were commanding the 1&2s and Talib Kweli made his way to the stage for a surprise performance. The only thing that was different was that he allowed folks to keep their phones. If you know Dave, those things aren’t allowed during some of his shows and events. He wants you to enjoy yourself sans smartphone and soak up the moment for what it really is.

Check out some of the recap images in the gallery above and be sure to grab tickets to one of the remaining shows at Radio City Music Hall.
