Tribeca Film Festival has had tremendous success over the years. The annual film festival showcases a variety of films from all over the world and takes over New York City for 2 1/2 weeks every April. This fall, the film festival’s parent company will be launching the Tribeca TV Festival. The Tribeca TV® Festival is set to kick off September 22nd in New York City. The festival will be a weekend long situation with curated events, screenings, conversations, and panels that will shed light on the television world from both sides of the camera.
”Ten years ago we wouldn’t have needed a TV festival. Now, with the change in the TV landscape, both the quality and quantity of shows, it makes sense,” –Robert De Niro, Co-Founder of Tribeca.
The Tribeca TV® Festival will bring television to the big screen, allowing festival goers to see advance screenings of new series, fan favorite shows with accompanying backstories from some of the show’s creators and actors. Scheduled to appear are Louis CK (FX show Better Things), Amy Sedaris, and Rutina Wesley (Queen Sugar) to name a few. There will also be a variety of premiere screening and sneak peek events for Gotham, Queen Sugar, Better Things, and a special Reunion panel with Will & Grace stars Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes, and Megan Mullally.
