Music We Like: Lanz Pierce “LOS CITY”

We are always looking for fresh new music to bang, especially on a long weekend. Whether you’re traveling for the Labor Day weekend or kicking it in the city, dope tunes should be on heavy rotation. Lanz Pierce came through in the clutch with her debut full-length project titled, LOS CITY. The mega-talented Pierce was able to put together a solid project that showcases her amazing talent.

In case you didn’t know, Lanz Pierce is a singer, rapper, and songwriter who caught the eye of Jimmy Iovine about 10 years ago. Since then, she’s managed to build a solid music history with a battle appearance on Sway in the Morning, dropping 2 EPs, and opening up for West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg. It is safe to say she’s had some influential mentors given the fact that she’s worked with music intellects like Niles Rodgers, Snoop Dogg, and Jimmy Iovine to name a few.

The album title, LOS CITY, is a reflection of the two places (New York City and Los Angeles) that helped mold her writing skill and life views as she knows them. Both places are considered the mecca for culture and music. She’s spent ample time at both locations so it’s only right she pay homage to both.

Aside from the album dropping tomorrow, she also has a hoodie collection arriving just in time for Hoodie Season. Seems like it arrived early in New York City so copping one of these is a must. Press play on the album stream above and be sure to get your copy of LOS CITY tomorrow. It will be available for download across all major digital platforms. Each download includes a digital booklet that includes photography styled and directed by Lanz Pierce herself.

“In NY I was grinding, sleeping on my friends couches, my closet was in the trunk of my car. Then I’d hop on a plane, leave for a while and live out another life in L.A. That was the process of piecing it together.” – Lanz Pierce
